The LEA INSTITUT VITAL Company, an independent and family firm, was created in February 1993 by Charles Kloboukoff, with the aim of becoming the leading specialist in plants and natural, health-promoting products.

The FLORESSANCE range was launched in 1994.

In 1995, FLORESSANCE expanded its range with herbal teas, plant complex capsules and Phyto'cocktails.
The JARDIN BIOLOGIQUE appeared with spices, flavourings, bulk plants and organic herbal teas.

In March 1996, LEA INSTITUT VITAL set up its base in La Rochelle to promote its development and launched the natural cosmetic range, LEA NATURE.

En 1997, FLORESSANCE became the No. 1 phytotherapy company in chain stores in France. Contacts for establishing international partnerships were on the increase. The Group developed strong communication links in the specialist distribution press.

In June 1998, LEA INSTITUT VITAL ranked No. 25 out of the top 100 French independent companies : classification carried out by the «Entreprise» magazine with the Ernst & Young contest.

In July 1999, the LEA NATURE Group acquired a new head office: L'Espace Vital. Covering a surface area of 4,500 m², it accommodates a 200-strong young, ambitious workforce with 120 employees on site. A savoury sector, LE JARDIN BIOLOGIQUE, was developed.

In 2000, the Group purchased the MAISON de FLEURANCE Company, the dietetics brand, SILHOUETTE, and the VIVER organic canning plant. It launched the ENTOUKA organic products for children range and the Thalasso product line. The Group also organised its first environment seminar to boost in-house awareness of how to protect Nature.
 

In 2001, the surface area of the headquarters doubled in line with company growth. The site covers 11,000m² over 4 hectares of land. FLORESSANCE launched its initial «control» programmes.

In 2002, expansion of R&D units and quality control. Extensive launch of specific cosmetic ranges, sporting nutrition, natural vitamins, organic spices, some of which have resulted from fair-trading, and home fragrances.

In 2003, development of specialist networks and revamping of the NATESSANCE range. Launch of the first NATESSANCE organic cosmetics range. The Group celebrated its 10th anniversary.

In 2004, arrival of the organic cosmetics range for babies with NATESSANCE BABY. Creation of a new range of salts and proprietary products: JARDIN DES OCEANS.
Construction of a new extension to the site.

In 2005, creation of the Jardin Bio Equitable (Fair-trade) textile range. Extension of the head office.

In 2006, arrival of the Jardin Bio Etic organic and fair-trade cosmetic range. Léa Nature was awarded the Trophée de l’Entreprise Citoyenne (Citizens’ Company Trophy) in recognition of its commitment to international solidarity and sustainable development. 

In 2007, The Group Lea Nature receives the Mariannes d’Or for its commitment towards the bees’ protection and its support to the association Terre d’Abeille (bees’ earth). Launch of organic skin cares ">So’Bio, Bioscience) and of a new food supplement range ">Biosystem). Launch of ecological household products.
